Welcome, seeker of knowledge!

At the root of every revolution, there lies a great idea; its passion and fire are the fueling force that drives such a powerful movement. The creation of the Houston branch is the fruit of a revolutionary idea. Our passion, our fire, our goal is to gain the priceless knowledge that Muslim scholars from the time of our Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) till this day and pass it on to our children. Sheikh Moustafa Mahmoud, in association with the Sharia Academy, adopted this idea and nourished it to life. It started as a few weekend seminars to promote the Academy and assess the demands of the Houston community. Dr. Salah Assawy is one of the prominent speakers who led these seminars. His visits to Houston inspired the community to participate in any way possible. These seminars proved very successful and revealed the community's hunger for more knowledge. Sheikh Moustafa Mahmoud, wanting this idea to flourish, teamed up with Dr. Salah Assawy and started the "50 Houstonian Scholars" project. This project was geared to produce 50 scholars from the Houston community through a series of diplomas. The main goal of this project is to provide the community with scholars from its own, who are knowledgeable in all aspects of Islam and all its sciences. To make this happen, sponsorship programs were promoted at the Masajid, and Muslims across Houston gave generously. After hard work, passion, and determination, we stand here before you with a set curriculum; knowledgeable professors and mentors; and students, eager to start our BA program. A well-staffed permanent facility is in our future inshaAllah. Where there is a will, there is always a way. Our will is there and this chapter has created a path for us. This is our time to support and participate in this great movement. This is our time to continue fueling the fire of our Iman, never letting our passions fade.
